Heading to Valdez

We got out of Fairbanks 2 days ago. The bike got a weld and Dave in Fairbanks was more than gracious in offering the needed shock since BMW North America fell through twice in sending the shock.

About to head out from Homer. Had tasty seafood of Salmon, Halibut, Prawns (fingers), Scallops and potatoes last night at Captain Patties on the Homer Spit. Leaving Fairbanks we stayed over in Wasilla and from there headed to Homer. The scenery is top notch at Cook's Inlet with the water and the awesome mountains. We cruised through Anchorage or as Jeff the welder called it Los Anchorage. We'll take a look around today as we have a 200+ mile ride back up the road we came in on on Rt 1 to reach Homer.

Alaska has been an experience like no other and the people we have met have been out of this world. I can see why people like it up here. One thing I can't fathom is Palin leaving a place this cool and out of this world for the larger world of politics, but nothing makes sense in the world of politics.

Some random pics again in no particular order.

Departing the Homer Spit after tasty seafood

A nice hand rendered sign on the Heritage Inn in Homer.

Tammy the bringer of said tasty seafood

A view from a road to the top of Homer I forget the name of

A moose chilling by the road. I think these are like the deer back home in WV. Am I correct in the moose slang 'Swamp Donkey'?

Heading down Rt 1 to Homer

Stampede Road where Chris McCandless (Into the Wild, a desperate yet beautiful story made into a wonderful book and a good movie) headed out. We wanted to go father but a truck pulled up and the driver said the Harley would rattle apart as conditions get sketchy.

I decided to establish a ready made town while in the state

Just a good shot

An establishment of tasty burgers, Monderosa.

Mom and Dad heading down Rt 1 to Homer.

A beautiful stripped down Beemer. /2 me thinks?

I have a hundred of these shots from bridges all over.

A good installation piece at the museum in Fairbanks U.

Random shots wandering the tracks

Jeff the welder helping a guy out. Pic came out OK for not looking. Wish I got a pic with Shock Dave but didn't have the camera on me we Dad and I went to his house to make the shock exchange.
