31 Days Out

Today marks the 31st day out and currently in Houston B.C. and about to get back on the rode on 16 and head in the direction of Prince George. Plan on crossing into Washington in 2 days. Maybe.

We left Alaska 3 or 4 days ago and it's definitely a place worth returning and I have to say I have fallen in love with British Columbia. Valdez in my opinion was the best ride with the ride from Anchorage to Glennallen close behind. Riding in the mountains and glaciers close at hand and the heavy cloud coverage heading to Valdez was a great touch.

We're taking a different route back to the lower 48 starting on 37 off the Alcan just west of Watson Lake. The ride has proved intimate and led us to Stewart B.C. which was just great, the Mayberry of the north. We headed into Hyder Alaska from Stewart and took the 23 mile ride up to view Salmon Glacier which was definitely worth the dusty, bumpy and sometime rough ride.

We've been meeting people worth meeting from across the world and the motorcycles are the big ice breaker. You definitely don't experience travel by 4 wheeler as you do by a bike. Either way is good, but bike is better.

Outside Valdez

Horsetail Falls on the way to Valdez

Just a simple nice scene

Something on the chopping block at the Valdez docking spot.

Riding in the clouds to Valdez

Can't get enough of mountains

And more

Mt. Drum is dead center and was huge even miles off from Glennallen

Glacier on the way to Glennallen. I don't remember the name.

Old mining equipment on the road to Salmon Glacier outside of Hyder AK

Grizzly deterrent for the road crew. This was a 25 minute wait here.

Checking things out while waiting for the pilot car.

Beautiful and I have no idea where this is at off the top of my head. I think it's heading to Destruction Bay, Yukon.

Outside Destruction Bay taking a break.

Speaks for itself.

Messing with the grizzly remains.

Stream somewhere on 37 before Kitwanga B.C.

Up at Salmon Glacier.

With Eli from LA at Salmon Glacier.

A bit of the road to Salmon Glacier.

Another bit of road to Salmon.

Salmon Glacier. I wish I could convey how large this is.

More of it.

Mom and Pops at Salmon about to head down the mountain side.

Inside Stewart B.C.

Structure in Stewart.

Hyder, AK. I don't think there was pavement anywhere in this small small town.

This would be fun.

At all road stops with pilot car in Canada, bikes get moved to the front of the line.

I think this was south of Watson Lake.

Not sure.

On 37. Truck load was smooshed vehicles.

Good shot.

On the craptastic road between Alaska and Destruction Bay. I think the Dalton is in better shape and condition.

Light came out cool.

Just beautiful

And this too.
